Care Fair L.A. 2017
Caring Counts’ annual festival, Care Fair L.A., is an event aimed to foster kindness, compassion and inclusion. We educate attendees through exposure to all types of kindness. We make learning about empathy fun!
Last year, our first annual Care Fair L.A. provided this curriculum to 500 kids and families in the L.A. area.
Our more than 20 interactive booths gave kids insight and ideas on how to become part of our kindness movement. Children Mending Hearts hosted a booth in which boys and girls were able to make bracelets for kids in Puerto Rico. They also sent along notes of support to the children who were devastated by the destruction of Hurricane Maria. The Beagle Freedom Project brought Patrick the beagle to take selfies with kids, all while educating children about the importance of caring for animals. Perfectly Here hosted a booth in which children were able to make mindful jars. These jars represented a way to keep children calm and peaceful. This falls in line with our mission to teach the importance of self compassion.
